This Cookie Policy explains how Appraisal Ally uses cookies and similar technologies on our marketing website at https://appraisalally.com and inside the app. Read it together with our Privacy Policy. The short version: the app uses only the cookies it needs to keep you signed in, and the marketing website uses analytics only if you let it. We set no advertising cookies anywhere.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files a site stores on your device. "Similar technologies" include browser local storage and session storage. We use "cookies" below to cover all of these.

2. Cookies in the app

2.1 Essential / authentication

When you sign in to the app, our authentication provider (Supabase Auth) sets session cookies that keep you logged in and secure your session as you move between pages. These are strictly necessary — the app cannot function without them, so they are not subject to consent. Clearing them simply signs you out.

2.2 Payment pages

On pages where a payment is taken, Stripe may set cookies used for fraud prevention. These are necessary to process payments securely.

3. Cookies on the marketing website

3.1 Consent cookie

When you make a choice in our cookie banner, we store a small cookie recording that choice so we do not ask again on every visit. This cookie is essential to honoring your preference.

3.2 Analytics

We use PostHog to understand how visitors use the marketing website so we can improve it. Analytics cookies are set only after you opt in through the cookie banner. If you decline, they are not set. See PostHog's privacy documentation at posthog.com/docs/privacy/gdpr-compliance.

4. No advertising cookies

We do not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not allow third parties to set advertising cookies on our site. If that ever changes, we will update this Policy and the banner first.

5. How to Manage Cookies

• Cookie banner: use the banner on the marketing website to grant or refuse analytics. You can change your mind any time by reopening it.
• Browser controls: most browsers let you block or delete cookies. See allaboutcookies.org. Blocking the app's essential cookies will sign you out and break functionality.
• Global Privacy Control & Do Not Track: we do not sell or share personal information for behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of. Because we run no ad cookies, your analytics choice in the banner is the single control that matters.

6. Vendors

• Supabase — session and authentication cookies in the app (essential).
• Stripe — fraud-prevention cookies on payment pages (essential there).
• PostHog — marketing-website analytics (consent-gated).
